Congratulations to CPTC’s Newest Tenured Faculty, Daniel Creech and Rebecca Edmondson

On March 12, the Clover Park Technical College Board of Trustees awarded tenure to instructors Rebecca Edmondson and Daniel Creech. Both faculty members had to go through a demanding review process to be awarded tenure. They were required to set up a personal professional development plan with a step-by-step process on how to achieve their goals. Along the way, a tenure committee evaluated their performance and provided guidance and feedback on their progress.

“The tenure committee I had was extremely encouraging, supportive and affirming to me and my role in this field and at the college,” Rebecca Edmondson said.

Rebecca is an instructor in our Early Care & Education department, specializing in special-needs courses for diverse learners and behavior guidance for children and adults. She first started teaching at CPTC in 2001 as a part-time adjunct instructor, and she became a full-time adjunct in 2005. She recently completed her master’s degree in early childhood-integrated curriculum.

“Each member of the tenure committee and the faculty that I associated with on a daily basis were so cooperative and supportive,” Daniel Creech said.

Daniel has spent a total of almost ten years at CPTC:  two years as a student in the Aviation Maintenance Technician program, a semester in the Professional Pilot program, and seven years as an instructor, teaching in both the Professional Pilot and Aviation Maintenance Technician Program. In 2011 he started a tenure-track position in the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program, focusing on turbine-engine and helicopter maintenance courses.

When the weather permits, Daniel sometimes commutes to work from Yelm in an airplane.
