Clover Park Technical College to shine in Lakewood Holiday Parade of Lights
Clover Park Technical College will help light up Lakewood on Dec. 9 in the city’s annual Holiday Parade of Lights. CPTC students, faculty and staff and their families are invited to join in the festivities and show their college pride.
Parade partakers are encouraged to wear something that signifies their CPTC program or department, such as medical scrubs, coveralls, or a chef’s toque or jacket. Participants may also make and carry signs, hand out candy, and don holiday lights and other festive accessories. (Tip: Wear blue lights to show your City of Lakewood community spirit!)
“Our campus community has so much to celebrate, and this is a fun and festive way to do just that,” CPTC President Dr. Joyce Loveday said. “The Holiday Parade of Lights is a great opportunity to show off your program and all CPTC has to offer.”
Be part of a community tradition
The Holiday Parade of Lights is all about community. Each year, the City of Lakewood invites everyone to enter the event, including groups, individuals, businesses, nonprofits, organizations, sports teams, school groups and more. Participants can walk or drive a decorated float or vehicle. In addition to the parade, the holiday celebration includes a tree lighting, Santa photos, food trucks and entertainment.
CPTC walkers should plan to meet at the parade staging area at Lodge Park Elementary School by 3:30 pm. The parade is scheduled for 4:30-5:30 pm. The route is just over one mile and ends in front of Lakewood City Hall.
If you’d like to walk in the parade or have questions, please contact Samantha Dana, CPTC Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness, at samantha.dana@cptc.edu.
You can also show your school spirit from the sidelines. Just grab a spot along the parade route to cheer on the CPTC contingent.
