CPTC Goes Back to the Future with Open House
More than 3,800 area middle school, high school and prospective students will ‘CPTC themselves’ into the future at Clover Park Technical College’s annual Career Conference Thursday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The open house event is open to the public and will take place at the Lakewood Campus, where more than 40 programs will be showcased with demonstrations, activities and workshops to encourage visitors to think about post-high school plans and career training opportunities.
This year’s theme, ‘CPTC Yourself into the Future,’ is in line with the Back to the Future movie. The Seattle Time Machine – a replica DeLorean – will be on campus, along with several other interactive displays like the 23rd Annual People’s Choice Car and Bike Show, a hair and fashion show, and career workshops led by faculty and students.
Visitors are encouraged to step into the many photo booths set up throughout campus to picture where they could be in their future, and share the photos on social media using #CPTCyourself.
Health science programs and industry partners are part of the event’s Health Care Fair in Bldg. 21, and the college’s aerospace, manufacturing and trades program will be on display at the Advanced Manufacturing Fair in Bldg. 23.
