CPTC Students: Learn How to Sign Up for Health Insurance
On March 12 and 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Clover Park Technical College students can learn how to navigate Washington’s health benefits exchange at a free event in Building 19, Room 124, on CPTC’s Lakewood campus.
The Washington Healthplanfinder Enrollment Event, hosted by CPTC’s Associated Student Government, will walk students through the steps to find and sign up for health insurance through wahealthplanfinder.org, the state’s health benefit exchange. Open enrollment for insurance through the benefit exchange ends March 31.
“We’re trying to give students the opportunity to learn about Washington Healthplanfinder and how they can sign up,” said David Rich, CPTC’s ASG legislative senator. “Some of it can be confusing, so we wanted to have an outside group come in, walk students through it, and offer students a chance to sign up before the deadline.”
To sign up for insurance at the event, students must bring their Social Security numbers, their birth dates, their household’s estimated income, their employment info and proof of resident status. They will need that same information for any family members they would like to enroll.
