Host Family Needed for German Exchange Student
Would you like to make a lifelong friend across the Atlantic Ocean?
Would you like to learn the authentic ways to eat Bratwurst?
Would you like to learn the German language, history and culture?
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you should consider hosting an exchange student from Germany!
Clover Park Technical College’s International Education Programs is looking for a host family for a 21-year-old German male exchange student who will attend the College this fall through Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX), the scholarship cultural exchange program funded by the U.S. Congress and the German Parliament.
Term of hosting: late August/early September 2014-June 2015 (10 months).
Monthly stipend provided: $225 per month to offset the cost of hosting.
Who can be a host?: Non-student adult community members (family, couple, single of all ages) who live within a 30-mile radius from CPTC’s Lakewood campus, can provide a safe, clean and caring home, and are interested in sharing cultural experiences with the student.
Host responsibilities: Provide a furnished private room, food for three meals (cooking optional), and various support to help him settle in the community.
